MVFD has two sources of funding. First, each parcel in our service area has a modest parcel tax that was voted in most recently in the year 2000. We collect a little over $22,000 per year from this tax. The revenue is held in a county account and spent on items related to fire and safety in our service area. The board of directors makes recommendations to the county supervisors regarding the use of the funds.

The vast majority of our other revenue comes from donations through our annual fund, or our starlight auction. Other revenue includes a $50 per call reimbursement from the county as well as any grants we are able to obtain.

Donations may be designated for either our general fund or for our firefighters that have lost their homes. To designate a gift, send and email to and let us know. Include your name and the donation amount so we can match it to the gift receipt.
